Shangrao Sanqing Mountain Airport project will start construction in the beginning of July in Jiangxi province. Located in Zunqiao village, Shangrao county, the project will last three years.

Sanqing Mountain Airport grew out of Gandong Airport in 2009. It aims to provide services for Shangrao, Yingtan, and Fuzhou as well as scenic spots such as Sanqing Mountain, Wuyuan, Guifeng, Longhu Mountain, Mount Huangshan and Wuyi Mountain.

Sanqing Mountain Airport, the seventh civilian airport in Jiangxi, is a 4c level regional airport. It will work with Nanchang Airport, Jiujiang Airport, Ganzhou Airport, Jingdezhen Airport, Jinggangshan Airport and Yichun Airport.

With an area of 149.5 hectares and an investment of 600 million yuan ($94.32 million), the Sanqing Mountain Airport is available for Boeing 737 to take off and land.

The construction of Sanqing Mountain Airport will end the history of no airports existing in the east part of Jiangxi and facilitate air transport for local people.
