Tourists appreciated blooming lotus in Shicheng county, Jiangxi province on June 13, 2012.

As many as 6,667 hectares of white lotus in Shicheng county, Jiangxi province, have been in blossom. With a history of 1,300 years in planting the flower, the county is a renowned white lotus nut production base in China. Over the past years, investments have been made in the white lotus industry to introduce, develop and promote new varieties and new technology. It has become a pillar industry to get local families rich.
