Sanqing Mountain strives for a World Geological Park

Sanqing Mountain's application for a world geological park has entered into the key stage. It will receive an on-the-spot investigation and evaluation by experts from UNESCO in the middle of June.

Since the beginning of its application as a world geological park in 2005, the scenic spot has made efforts in scientific research. It cooperated with renowned universities and research institutes in China to carry out research activities such as the international comparison of geological landforms, and biodiversity studies.

The spot also invited scholars at home and abroad to conduct geological studies at the mountain. Various printed materials and photos regarding geological information were prepared. In addition, 160 million yuan has been used to comprehensively improve the area.
