In 2012, Nanchang is going to place flowers along the urban arterial streets and build a four seasons flower garden around Xiang Lake. The public green space per capita is expected to reach an area of 12 square meters in urban Nanchang, Jiangxi province.

Nanchang will carry out urban greening along the airport road, Yudai River and Fu River, city forest parks and 37 key roads and highways. The arterial roads in the urban area will have flowers all year round.

The city also plans to accelerate the pace of the forest park and garden reconstruction. Flower themed gardens are scheduled to be set up for each season, including the camellia garden, red maple garden, sweet-scented osmanthus garden and crape myrtle garden.

Near the Xiang Lake wetland forest park, the Chinese rose themed park will be planted and cultured with a great number of Chinese roses. A botanical garden will be constructed soon.

This year is a key year for Nanchang to build a national forest city and a garden city. The city will continue to make efforts to promote the greening of their urban area and create an urban landscape with flowers.
