Top Ten Buildings Award in Jiangxi published

The awards ceremony for the first Top Ten Buildings Award in Jiangxi province was held in Nanchang city on the evening of Jan 13, 2012 and the award winners were officially announced.

Jinggangshan Museum with other 9 buildings won the title of the Top Ten Buildings Award in Jiangxi province. History Memorial Hall of the Chinese Soviet Republic and nine other buildings were selected for the first Top Ten Buildings Finalist Award in Jiangxi province.

The award was organized by the Selecting Office for the first Top Ten Buildings in Jiangxi province. The buildings for appraisal and selection were picked out from public buildings built during the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-2010), characterizing the contemporary time or with distinctive local or cultural features, and with a minimum construction area of 20,000 square meters for a single building. It could be 60,000 square meters for hospitals, schools and other public architectural complexes, that have at least 100 million yuan investment.

The evaluation for the award was conducted in four districts, of which central and northern Jiangxi district includes Nanchang (with five candidate projects), Jiujiang (three), Jingdezhen (three). The eastern and southern Jiangxi district includes Shangrao (six), Fuzhou (four), and Yingtan (one). The western Jiangxi district consisted of Pingxiang (six), Yichun (one) and Xinyu (two), and the southern Jiangxi district includes Ganzhou (four) and Ji’an (four).

The evaluation, lasting half a year, went through recommendation in the districts and cities, on-the-spot survey and evaluation of relevant experts, public election, and the voting from the leading office. Finally, the new Jinggangshan Revolution Museum, Jiangxi Arts Center, Fuzhou Tang Xianzu Grand Theater, and seven other buildings won the Top Ten Buildings Award in Jiangxi province, while Yichun Culture & Arts Center and Pingxiang Museum, among nine other buildings, were elected as the Top Ten Buildings Finalist Award in Jiangxi province.
