Longhu Mountain scenic spot greets 600,000th tourist

At 11:16am on Dec 25, 2011, the Dragon and Tiger Mountain scenic spot greeted its 600,000th tourist of the year. It is considered a good omen that indicates the scenic spot will achieve even greater results with the 2012 China Happy Health Tour.

Yu Jiayu, general manager of the scenic spot, awaited the arrival of the 600,000th tourist at the gate of the tourist service center. Wang Kai, a man from Fuzhou, Fujian province, was interested in visiting Dragon and Tiger Mountain for a long time. He had no idea about the lucky tourist activity. He was too excited when hearing the good news. The scenic spot administrative office presented Wang with a certificate marking him the 600,000th tourist to Dragon and Tiger Mountain in 2011. He was also presented a porcelain carving of Lao Zi (founder of Taoism), an amulet from a Dragon and Tiger Mountain Taoist master, a badge of auspicious dragon and tiger, and the scenic spot tourism DVD.

In recent years, Dragon and Tiger Mountain scenic spot has intensified it development. It has opened up new tourism lines, built trestle roads along cliffs and furnished night tour programs. Through these measures, the scenic spot has attracted increasingly more tourists with its enriched landscapes. The scenic spot has held a series of national activities to elevate its popularity and influence in the tourism sector., including the International Tent Festival, International Stream Fishing Contest, national large-scale Travel Service Forum, and the Dragon and Tiger Mountain Taoist Cultural Festival.

To celebrate Jiangxi province earning over 100 billion yuan in tourism income, Dragon and Tiger Mountain scenic spot has offered a one-month free ticket service from Dec 20, 2011 to Jan 20, 2012. To greet the Dragon Year, the scenic spot meticulously prepared five culture themed activities, including a Dragon culture theme activity, Dragon and Tiger Mountain praying tour (with hot spring ticket gift), Fiery Dragon Greeting New Year evening party, and a ceremony issuing special stamp for the Dragon Year.

Jiang Heping, director of Dragon and Tiger Mountain Tourism Bureau, said "This is the first time we have opened the scenic spot free of charge to the public. It is a pioneer in the country. We hope that with this one-month ticket free activity, we could present the charming landscapes of Dragon and Tiger Mountain, a Taoist base with 1,000 years legacy, to many tourists."
